Post-Game

Yawkey Way, looking south from the Fenway Park Grandstand, Boston, Massachusetts, August 9, 2008. Fans leave the ballpark after the third annual Futures at Fenway minor-league doubleheader, which this year was a 21-inning odyssey in which both Red Sox farm teams won. The short-A Lowell Spinners beat their New York-Penn League opponents, the Hudson Valley Renegades (Tampa Bay Rays), 4-3 in 12 innings in the opener. In game two, the Pawtucket Red Sox of the AAA International League defeated the Charlotte Knights (Chicago White Sox) 5-2.

Pre-Game

Brookline Avenue at Yawkey Way, Boston, Massachusetts, July 30, 2008. An hour and a half before game time, Red Sox fans line up to pass the time until first pitch while a stretch limo navigates the rush hour traffic and pre-game pedestrian throngs.

Panic

The Esplanade, Boston, Massachusetts, July 4, 2008. It was mid-morning; I was waiting in line to go through security and secure my spot on the lawn for the biggest annual Independence Day party in America. It struck me that needing to find either of these signs would seriously cramp your holiday style.

Fill-up

Hess gas station, Belmont Street, Worcester, Massachusetts, June 20, 2008. When I went online looking for cheap gas in my immediate vicinity, this is what came up. The numbers on the pump were my purchase.

A car parked at Burncoat High School, Worcester, Massachusetts, June 13, 2008. If this was a winning ticket before the Celtics beat the Lakers to win the NBA championship, we might as well dispense with the election entirely.

Irony

Main Street, Worcester, Massachusetts, June 13, 2008. I can't count the number of times I've driven by this building on my way to work and thought, "I must get a picture of that." What was going through the mind of the person who came up with the name for the nightclub?

Main Street

In front of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Cooperstown, NY, November 5, 2005. You'd take your life in your hands to stand in the middle of the street in the summer, but it really is this quiet later in the year.
